The Minister of Energy and Water Resources has demanded measurable results from the new management team at electricity utility company, SOCADEL.
Gaston Eloundou Essomba was speaking while wrapping up an assessment of the first 100 days in office of the team.
During a meeting with company executives in Douala, he urged them to accelerate reforms, focusing on recovery, connecting industrial customers and switching post-paid meters to pre-paid systems.
The government expects these measures to deliver nearly 150 megawatts of fresh load and generate more than 100 million francs in monthly cash advances.
