Cup of Cameroon: Colombe of Dja and Lobo wins Historic Trophy

The team from the South Region of Cameroon’s has written its name in gold after beating their counterpart from the West Region by 1-0 to win their First ever Cup of Cameroon trophy.

An 11th minute goal from Colombe was enough to carry the day.

Multiple attempts by Aigle Royale of Menoua were stopped by a compact defense wall and an agile goalkeeper who stayed focused and vigilant throughout the encounter.

Substitutions made and the second half, increased the pace of the game, and many chances were created on both sides without any goals.

The Captain of Colombe brandished the coveted with joy and excitement alongside his team, to the applause of fans of officials of the team.

The Cup of Cameroon finals was the highlight of the closing ceremony of the 63rd edition of the Sporting season.

The event chaired by the Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the President of the Republic, featured cultural animations and a parade of the different sporting movements.

Renowned artist, Bad Nova thrilled fans during the choreographic display that showcased the country’s cultural diversity.

The Yaounde Ahmadou Ahdijo stadium was full to capacity with supporters of both teams who turned out in large numbers to cheer their teams to victory.
