Chairperson of CONAC & Educational Stakeholders in Akonolinga

As schools in Cameroon reopen for the 2024/2025 academic year, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC) is intensifying efforts to ensure a corruption-free back to school period. In a bid to prevent bribery, extortion, embezzlement, and abuse of power, CONAC workers have been visiting school campuses in Yaoundé to monitor registration and admission processes.

Prior to the September 9th resumption, CONAC sensitized education officials, school authorities, parents, and the general public on the fight against corruption, highlighting the penalties for those found guilty. Anti-corruption notices were displayed in schools and public areas to raise awareness and mobilize support. Additionally, anti-corruption materials were distributed, encouraging the public to report corruption through CONAC’s Hotline 1517.

Investigation teams are currently conducting school inspections to verify reported corruption cases. CONAC Chairperson, Rev. Dr. Dieudonné MASSI GAMS, launched the campaign in Akonolinga, Nyong and Mfoumou Division, urging the public to join forces with CONAC to ensure a corruption-free school year, emphasizing CONAC’s commitment to leaving no stone unturned in the fight against corruption. The Campaign under the theme “Together for a corruption Free Back-to-school”, will be extended nationwide to 1000 schools.
