This Friday, Lekie Filles Football Club of Yaoundé will face off against TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, with the lone ticket to the UNIFFAC Women’s CAF Champions League Qualifier hanging in the balance.
Following a goalless draw with CSM Diables Noirs of Congo on Wednesday, Coach Stephan Ndzana and his team must secure a win against TP Mazembe to advance to the final phase of the CAF Women’s Championship league in Algeria. With only one club set to advance from the ongoing UNIFFAC qualifiers, Raissa Nnanga and her teammates have a golden opportunity to cement their leadership position in the four-club tournament.
Lekie Filles opened their campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over Athletics Femenino of Equatorial Guinea on Monday and have yet to concede a goal in their two outings. A win against TP Mazembe would make them the first Cameroonian female football club to qualify for the final phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The stage is set for a thrilling match, and Lekie Filles are ready to give it their all to secure their spot in the prestigious tournament.
