In a bid to bolster scientific research in Cameroon, the French Government has awarded scholarships to 25 researchers through a prestigious program in Bordeaux, France. The Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Madeleine Tchuente, met with the recipients at a ceremony held at the Ministry’s conference room in Yaounde, where appreciation letters were presented in recognition of their achievements.

This event marked an opportunity for the French Government to reaffirm its commitment to ongoing cooperation with Cameroon in training scientific researchers. Amel Ahmed-Boudouda, Cooperation Officer at the French Embassy in Cameroon, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “The cooperation between France and Cameroon has extended to the development of Scientific Research. It is essential for both countries to reinforce this collaboration and benefit from the expertise of these researchers.”

Minister Tchuente praised the efforts of the laureates, urging them to continue working tirelessly to develop research in Cameroon. “Scientific research is a vital sector for the development of our country. As researchers, it is crucial to continue innovating and employing modern research techniques,” she said.

IKOME NALOVA Hermia, a member of the pioneering cohort of Cameroonian researchers who received the prestigious Mobility Scholarship, expressed her enthusiasm for the program. “This training will equip me to make significant contributions to advancing research in Cameroon,” she noted.

This cooperation between France and Cameroon aims to train more scientific researchers in modern technology, strengthening ties between both countries. By supporting the development of scientific research, both nations hope to foster innovation and drive progress.
