The southern phase of the Cameroon International Cycling Tour kicked off Sunday June 8, 2025 at the 20th May Boulevard in Yaounde.
Ten clubs are taking part in the race amongst them three from Cameroon, four from other African countries and three from Europe.
Cameroonian cyclists began the race on a good footing by grabbing the two top spots during the first three laps in the North and Far North Regions.
Tchientcheu Michel Boris grabbed the yellow jersey while Clovis Kamzong Abossolo held the second spot. Both riders from team Cameroon and SNH velo club have maintained their hegemony in the race upto the fifth lap.
After completing the fourth lap from Yaounde to Bafia and the fifth lap from Tonga to Bangangte and back to Tonga, the cyclists have maintained their grip on the yellow jersey.
After completing five out of the ten laps of the race, Tchientcheu Michel Boris remains as the bearer of the coveted yellow jerseys for the overall best cyclists in the race.
He has attributed his victory to hard work and the team spirit among Cameroonian cyclists.
The race continues Tuesday June 10, 2025 from Kompina in the Littoral Region to Limbe in the South West Region.
