The President of the National Communication Council, Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubse has been given the traditional title of Nga Kong Nkum, which means bearer of the royal spear.
He was given the title by traditional Rulers of Nwa subdivision of the North West Region during the ceremony in Mfe village. He was called up to continue being a worthy ambassador of the subdivision.
By the ritual of drinking from the royal cup, Traditional Rulers of Nwa Sub Division in the North West of Cameroon, made Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubse their ambassador.
The college Chief gave him the title of Nga Kong Nkum; an attribute which comes along with the royal spear, cap, a red feather and a bag.
He was instructed to hunt on behalf of the Fons and bring back his catch to the palace for the development of the community.
The distinction was also given to him as a mark of recognition of his services to the nation, his humanitarian works and to thank the President of the Republic, Paul Biya for giving him the opportunity to serve as President of the national communication Council.
The ceremony in Mfe village was also marked by a church service to thank God and pray for more opportunities and for peace and progress in the country.
The President of the National Communication Council, Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubsu expressed gratitude for the recognition.
The event saw a display of the culture of the Nwa people in Donga Mantung division of the North West Region.
