Coordinators, trainers and their assistance in Sambo and combat sports will as from this Friday, January 10 undergoing training sessions to improve on their quality of coordination. The trainings to run from January 10 to Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Yaounde will comprise of the pedagogy of the sports and the intervention of trainers in case of medically induced emergencies in combat
The project is part of the activities of the Sambo Federation to school trainers and assistant personnel in sambo and combat sports
The trainers will be trained to further train the trainees and prepare them for upcoming competitions within the competencies of Sambo sports
According to the President of the Cameroon Sambo Federation, François Mbassi, the sporting structure has a total of seven sambo competitions in and out of Cameroon , reason for this training to run till Sunday, January 12, 2025
«Our vision is to be the second sports in Cameroon after football that is dearly loved by Cameroonian. Every year we have input-oriented activities and this 2025 is not exempted
Apart from competitions, President Francois Mbassi notes ahead of the Seminar to train trainers that the federation has ordinary activities like seminars, workshops and exchange sessions coordinated by the top management of the sambo powerhouse
The training sessions to kickoff in Yaounde, this Friday, January 10 will kickoff with the methodology and the second main aspect will be intervention, an important aspect of the game where the trainers are given basic knowledge on medical interventions in case of an emergency.
Just to note that Cameroon emerged overall best at the First ECCAS International Open organised in Yaounde in September 2024 in a competition that brought together 100 athletes from 8 ECCAS Countries. The host, Cameroon grabbed 12 medals ; nine of them in gold and three silver medals while second placed Morocco won two gold and DR Congo four medals.
