Board members of the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER) announced the approval of the corporation’s 2024 financial statements.
They revealed a substantial tax refund of five billion, three hundred and sixty-four million, eight hundred and twenty-seven thousand, two hundred and thirty-two francs.
The Board of Directors emphasized the importance of enhancing the company’s governance and implementing measures to improve drinking water services in urban and rural areas.
This move is expected to bolster CAMWATER’s efforts in providing accessible and clean water to the population.
The meeting was presided over by the board chair, Kum Bong Patrick Akwa in the presence of the Director General Blaise Moussa and his deputy Joceline Alice Ngo Njiki epse Mine.
The board presented a report from the Minister of Water Resources and Energy which indicates a significant increase in the number of households served by CAMWATER.
The numbers show a remarkable growth from 558,286 households in 2022 to 650,000 households in 2023.
This upward trend demonstrates CAMWATER’s commitment to expanding its services and improving the lives of Cameroonians.
