Cameroon has bagged home two trophies at the 2024 edition of the CAF Awards which held in Morocco on 15th December, 2024.
Cameroon’s Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue was awarded Men’s Assistant Referee of the Year meanwhile President Paul Biya received the CAF Excellence Award for his work in promoting football in Cameroon especially with the construction of stadiums in the country.
Even though Cameroon’s other nominees at the Awards, Baleba and Andre Onana did not take home any award, Andre Onana featured in the CAF Men’s Best XI of the year.
It is worth noting that Cameroon has bagged the African Best Player the highest number of times being 11, closely followed by Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria, 6 times each.
Cameroon’s first experience dates back to 1976 when Roger Milla won the African Player of the Year Award.
