Cameroon Radio Television Celebrates World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

The Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) has underscored the vital importance and vulnerability of audiovisual heritage, highlighting its pivotal role in preserving Cameroon’s rich cultural diversity and historical legacy. In commemoration of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, observed annually on October 27, CRTV showcased a diverse exhibition of audiovisual materials at its Yaoundé Radio Broadcasting House in Nlongkak.

“Preserving archives and patrimonial heritage is crucial. At CRTV, we prioritize safeguarding all audiovisual materials for future generations,” emphasized Dikos Oumarou Eric, Documentalist at CRTV.

To foster awareness and education, CRTV welcomed students from select higher institutions to explore the exhibition and gain insight into the significance of audiovisual heritage. This interactive experience aimed to inspire the next generation of cultural custodians and historians.
