Former TV Newscaster and Deputy Director of the CRTV Audiovisual Heritage Conservation Institute – IFCPA, Dr Asen Godfred is no more.
The season Journalist and trainer passed on Wednesday October 02, 2024 in Yaounde following an illness.
The Journalist who began his career at the CRTV in the South Regional Station, worked at Central TV newsroom as a news presenter, reporter, news supervisor and host several TV programs.
He is remembered to have produced and anchored programs like “people and Expectations” and “Deep focus” which feature interviews of prominent personalities.
In his capacity as host of “Deep Focus,” Dr Asen Godfred had an exclusive interview with the former Chadian President, Idriss Deby Itno at the Presidency Palace in N’djamena. He also interviewed Turkish political leaders and many others, showcasing his exceptional interviewing skills and ability to engage with high-profile guests.
Administrative roles
Dr Asen Godfred held various leadership positions within CRTV, with his last role being Deputy Director of the CRTV Audiovisual Heritage Conservation Institute (IFCPA).
Additionally, he served as President of the Commonwealth Youth Movement, demonstrating his commitment to empowering young people with the values of the gentleman’s club. He also acted as Head of Missions for most outreach activities of the CPDM party in Momo Division, North West Region of Cameroon.
Achievement
The Deputy Director of IFCPA, held a Ph.D. in International Relations, a testament to his quest for academic excellence and expertise in global affairs.
The works of Dr Asen Godfred earned him the recognition of the state. He was honored as an Officer of the Cameroon National Order of Valour for his relentless dedication to the country’s development.
