Traditional rulers of the North West Region, say they want to revive the cultural vibrancy of the region which has been disrupted by years of insecurity.
They were speaking during a meeting with the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute in Yaounde.
The delegation of Fons led by His Royal Highness Yakum Kevin Shumintang announced the holding of a festival known as The North West Heritage Festival for Peace Reconciliation and Sustainable Development in December 2024.
Their intention to organise a mega festival according to the custodians of the cultures and traditions of the region is to make the culture of the North West Region great again.
The heritage festival for peace reconciliation and sustainable development will be a platform for discussions and information sharing sessions for the population, the elite and the Fons.
The Prime Minister saluted the initiative and voiced the total support of government for the initiative.
Joseph Dion Ngute thanked the traditional rulers for keeping their allegiance with the state, adding that the government will never forget their sacrifices.
