Cameroon and Brazil will be revisiting cultural ties from 3rd to 8th June, 2024 at the 4th edition of the Cameroon Fashion Design.
The event, organised by a team headed by Sophie Darel has a guest of honour at each edition and this year, it is Brazil, reason for the theme, “Cultural branding: Perfect harmony for Cameroon and Brazil”.
Sophie Darel explains that Brazil was chosen this year because the South American country has many similarities with Cameroon in Central Africa.
She argues that many Brazilians have traced their ancestral roots to Cameroon. This visit is therefore an opportunity to visit the land of their ancestors.
She also highlighted that the gastronomy fair earmarked as one of the activities of this six-day forum will be milieu to discover the culinary skills of both countries and note the similarities.
The event also includes a daily exhibition fair on the esplanade of the National Museum with free entry, a cultural evening, and a gala night.
The Brazilian Ambassador to Cameroon, Patricia Maria Oliveira Lima, who was present at the opening ceremony, welcomed her countrymen to Cameroon and called on Cameroonians to show up massively at the fashion event.
On hand to welcome the August guests from Brazil was the Secretary General at the Ministry of Culture, representative of the Minister of Arts and Culture.
