Digital Communication: Upholding Cameroon’s Image and Societal Values take Centre Stage

Communicators across Cameroon and in diplomatic missions abroad are exchanging notes on how to preserve societal values and maintain Cameroon’s brand in the digital communication age.

This is at the annual conference of Heads of Central, Devolved and External Services, and bodies under the supervision of the Ministry of Communication.

The event which opened in the auditorium of the Ministry this 7th May 2024 will run till 8th May 2024.

Opening the two-day conference on the theme, “The challenges of preserving societal values and the branding of Cameroon’s image in the era of digital communication”, the Minister of Communication highlighted the need to be cautious when communicating in this digital age.

The Secretary General at the Ministry of Communication, Felix Zogo, gave the inaugural lesson of the day which focus on the concepts of “societal values” and “image projection of a country”.

On his heels were thematic exposés on the approaches and problems of digital communication and the impact of new communication canals in promoting societal values and the image of Cameroon. The exposés were presented by two communication experts, Prof Baba Wame and Evelyne Mengue A Koung.

The evening ended with a question and answer session as participants look forward to tomorrow’s session which will include an exposé on routes and means through which digital communication can be used to preserve societal values and build a positive image of Cameroon. The Director of International Communication and the Promotion of Image at the Ministry of Communication, Jean Lambert Nang will be the presenter in this session.

It will be closely followed by the drawing up and validation of a report to sanction this third annual conference.
