The new Rector of the University of Bertoua, Prof Dieudonné Emmanuel Pegnyemb was installed this April 17, 2024 by the Minister of Higher Education, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo, following his appointment on April 17, 2024.
Before his appointment, the son of the Sanaga Maritime Division was the Director of University Accreditations and Quality at the Ministry of Higher Education.
Academic Life
Prof Dieudonné Emmanuel Pegnyemb was born on December 1, 1964 and completed his secondary education with a Baccalaureat C from College Libermann in Douala.
He later obtained a First Degree in Physics – Chemistry from the University of Yaounde in 1990, then a Postgraduate Diploma in Chemistry in 1991, a Certificate of Further Education in Chemistry in 1992 and another Postgraduate Diploma this time around, in Theology in 1998.
The learned professor also holds two PhDs in various branches of Chemistry as well as Certificates and a Diploma from France, Canada and the U.S., in mediation, project management and communication.
Professional Life
Prof Dieudonné Emmanuel Pegnyemb has held key positions in Cameroon including: Lecturer, National Communication Secretary and Spokesperson of the National Union of Higher Education Teachers (SYNES) and member of the Academy of Sciences in New York amongst others.
He has also worked at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training and is a board member of various institutions in Cameroon.
The Professor’s myriad of experience, sure makes him fit to lead the two-year-old University of Bertoua towards achieving it’s earmarked missions.
