Government boosts agricultural and development projects in Bakassi

29/07/2010

Inhabitants of Bakassi have been robbing their hands in glee as basic infrastructure worth 1.2 billion CFA francs has just been delivered.

The classrooms, tables, and housing facilities were offered by the European Union in collaboration with the government of Cameroon. The ceremony at Akwa was witnessed by the chief donor, the head of the European Union in Cameroon, Paul Matheous.

In a related development the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is determined to boost agriculture in the recovered territory of Bakassi in Ndian.

This determination was expressed both in word and action recently in Mundemba where a capacity building workshop was organised for farmers in the area that benefitted from grants offered by that ministry. The workshop comes on the heels of the second consignment of funds amounting to over six millions CFA francs that was handed to the farmers with promises of more in future.
